Summer 2023 and the 3 weeks adventure Skopje – North Macedonia

On the 15th day of our adventure on 12 September 2023, we safely arrived in Skopje, North Macedonia. Surprisingly, well ahead of the scheduled time, we were able to check in and, after a short rest, ventured out for a stroll. Leaving Durres, Albania, turned out to be exceptionally beneficial as it allowed us to explore Pristina and today, we had a very pleasant surprise—Skopje is an extraordinary city that amazed us in the most delightful way. Our centrally located accommodation enabled us to walk around and witness numerous tourist attractions. The people are incredibly kind. We visited the Mother Teresa Memorial House and then ventured to Macedonia Square, continuing to the Fountain Olympia – Mother of Alexander III of Macedonia, Skopje Fortress, Mustafa Paša, and paused to dine in the Old Bazaar. As it was getting late, we decided to head back to our accommodation. Even though it was already night, the experience was delightful, and the city center in the evening is truly stunning. Upon reaching our lodging, at the last moment, we decided that we must see the Millennium Cross, so we drove there. The panoramic view of Skopje at night was extraordinary and well worth it. Skopje is indeed an exceptional city—thank you, Skopje.
