Summer 2023 and the 3 weeks adventure Sarajevo – Bosnia and Hertegovina

On the 3th day of our adventure on 31 August, 2023: We left Belgrade at 6 in the morning, with a 300-kilometer journey ahead. Everything went smoothly at the border, and we arrived in Sarajevo at 11 AM. By this time, the children were quite hungry, so we made a pit stop at Sarajevo Mall, where we dined at Vapiano Restaurant. The service was prompt, and the food was delicious.

We left our car parked in the mall’s parking lot and strolled through the Old Town, known as Baščaršija. The people we encountered were incredibly friendly and represented various nationalities, giving us the impression of being in a smaller version of Lisbon. One of the notable differences here is how commerce is conducted, and it’s exemplified at the “Sarajevo Meeting of Cultures,” where a monument on the pavement marks the spot where two cultures that have greatly influenced Sarajevo converge.

After reaching the end of the Old Town at Sebilj, we decided to return to our car and check in at our accommodation, which we had reserved through Booking. In the evening, we ventured out to visit the Yellow Fortress, a location that offers breathtaking views of Sarajevo at night. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t in our favor, and it drizzled lightly. After a short walk, we returned to our accommodation to rest.
